Commission on the Regulation of U.S. Capital Markets in the 21st Century
features a Town Hall Meeting
U.S. Financial Institutions Regulation: Assessing the Efficiency, Transparency, and Investor Protections of the Capital Markets

In February, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce launched an independent, high-level, bipartisan commission entitled the “Commission on the Regulation of the U.S. Capital Markets in the 21st Century.” Through a series of meetings and Town Hall gatherings, the Commission will develop a consensus reform agenda to ensure the continued competitiveness of U.S. capital markets, the development of capital sources for business expansion and job creation, and the protection of investors whose savings contribute so importantly to capital formation.

This meeting will discuss the globalization of financial transactions and, similarly, financial services firms, and discuss which changes to the regulation of the U.S. financial services industry would provide a more global perspective and approach to regulation and oversight. The panel will also consider and discuss specific changes in the structure and regulatory oversight of the U.S. financial services industry to ensure an efficient and transparent capital raising process.

Registration and breakfast begin at 7:15 a.m.  The program will follow from 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
