WHY ATTEND?

Most Board members generously donate their time to serve on a school board. Yet rarely is there an opportunity to receive training in effective board governance, nor are there many opportunities to interact with board members from other schools. This day-long workshop is an ideal way to invest in your school’s leadership. Sessions will be available specifically for board members new to their role, addressing the fundamentals of effective board governance.

The theme for this year is Telling Our Stories; Mission-Focused Marketing. In the course of the school year, Christian schools experience stories of God's faithfulness demonstrated through changed student lives, focused learning experiences, financial blessings, and many more. These can be powerful motivators for others to join your unique school community, but many times they remain largely unexpressed and unknown outside of the few people with first-hand experience. Join with others to learn how to use authentic experiences to recruit and retain students and families in your school.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Who will benefit from this day-long workshop? School board chairs and other board members; school principals and superintendents; school development directors, admission directors, business managers, and other school leaders will all find the day beneficial. This seminar is also ideal for those who have just begun their service on the school board. Sessions are provided in the fundamentals of good board operation.

Schools that receive the most benefit will bring a team of three or more persons, allowing them to interact with each other and talk through applications for their school situation.
