The Family Justice Center Alliance welcomes law enforcement personnel, prosecutors, shelter staff, community-based victim advocates, civil attorneys, judges, counselors, policy makers, elected officials, board members, survivors, parole and probation officers, rape crisis workers, medical personnel, educators, and all others interested in the future of the family violence. National and international speakers will be sharing their expertise in the area of domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse, and sexual assault. This year the conference features a FJC Symposium highlighting promising practices and emerging issues in the rapidly evolving national and international movement toward Family Justice Centers and other approaches to co-located, multidisciplinary services for victims of family violence and their children. The FJC Symposium is sponsored by the U.S. Dept. of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women.

The three-day conference will include discussions on issues related to the handling of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and elder abuse cases in the context of the Family Justice Center model. Workshops will profile Family Justice Centers in rural, suburban, and metropolitan communities. The conference will include reports from successful and struggling Family Justice Center communities, including lessons learned from communities pursuing co-located services for victims using a variety of co-location models. This year the conference will feature a Family Justice Center Symposium sponsored by the Office on Violence Against Women. The FJC Symposium will be held on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning (look for agenda workshops marked "FJC Symposium").

The conference faculty includes nationally & internationally recognized subject matter experts, advocates, and survivors.

During the conference participants will have the opportunity to tour the San Diego Family Justice Center and meet with survivors and professionals who currently work in Family Justice Centers in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Great Britain.

Cancellations:
Registration cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellation requests postmarked on or before March 31, 2008, will be refunded in full, less a $50 administrative fee. Cancellation requests postmarked between April 1 and April 15, 2008 will be refunded 50% of the registration fee. REFUNDS WILL NOT BE MADE FOR CANCELLATIONS POSTMARKED AFTER APRIL 15, 2008, OR, FOR PARTICIPANTS WHO REGISTER BUT DO NOT ATTEND. Transfer of registration fees to another person may be done without penalty online.
