What is a CMP Study Group?
As the administrator of the CMP exam, the Convention Industry Council does not offer review or study courses for program participants. CIC focuses on credentialing and exam development to maintain the designation's high degree of credibility.
Most CMP study groups are formed by CIC member organizations at the chapter level, as part of continuing educational efforts. Some CIC members offer CMP informational sessions at their annual meetings. We recognize the CMP support and promotion of CIC member groups provide by offering study groups. Study groups operate independently of CIC.
Most candidates report participation in such groups to be helpful, both educationally and as assistance in preparing for the examination. Research indicates that those who participate in study groups have slightly higher scores on CMP examinations than those who do not.
Why Join Our Study Group?
The Meeting Planning Academy™ provides a CMP study Group twice a year, approximately 6 months prior to a CMP exam. We are approved by the Convention Industry Council as a CMP Study Group. Attendees in most study groups meet for several weeks at a location outside their offices. This can become difficult to commit to, and what happens if you miss a class? Also, most other study groups do not provide any assistance with the application phase - which can be very challenging to fill-out
The Meeting Planning Academy™ CMP Study Group meets through 5 Tele-Seminars, including: Key Application tips and 4-2 hr- classes dedicate to the CMP Exam. All our classes are taught through a tele-seminar format - you just listen in on the phone or through the web.
Can't make a class, no problem, we will provide you a link to download MP3 files of all the tele-seminars.
