The State of the American Judiciary
, a half-day conference examining the current condition of civil judicial practice in the U.S.
The event will explore important issues such as judicial best practices, the ramifications of election versus appointment or merit selection of judges, the development of specialty courts at the state and federal levels, and the important role of adequate judicial pay in encouraging highly qualified candidates to take the job. The conference will seek to identify what is working and what could make the civil justice system function better.
Registration and breakfast will be from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. The program and lunch will follow from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
