The Role of the Discovery Process in the Information Age (Discovery Session: 8:30 am - 1:30 pm) The discovery costs associated with litigation in the United States courts have grown exponentially in recent years, with costs in large-scale litigation – particularly in the age of e-discovery – easily running into the tens of millions of dollars. This event will explore the implications of the explosion in the discovery process and the impact it is having on fairness and efficiency in the civil justice system. Release of new research examining these trends will highlight the importance of examining potential reforms in the discovery arena. In addition, panelists will reveal top strategies in managing discovery and potential legislative and rule-based solutions to bring sanity back to the process. Speakers will include: John P.
