DSHS ProviderOne Provider Readiness Update & Client Eligibility Workshops
Tuesday, May 06, 2008 - Thursday, June 12, 2008

FREE 3.5 hour workshop to get providers ready
Offered in 13 locations at 23 separate times
across Washington
We have limited availability at this time.

May 13, 2008 update - All 23 scheduled sessions are filled and registration for this workshop is closed.  We apologize if you are unable to register for a session. We worked hard to accommodate the unprecedented demand and have more than 2,600 registered (compared to 1,050 attending the workshop 18 months ago).

In June we will post the materials to the ProviderOne website
http://maa.dshs.wa.gov/ProviderOne for those unable to attend a workshop.

We will host more ProviderOne training. Two months prior to go-live DSHS we will host state-wide demonstrations of the new system. We will have webcasts and classes available for this training.

The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) is changing to a new payment processing system known as ProviderOne. This first phase of the implementation (projected for December 2008) will affect all payments currently processed through the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) as well as payments made to the regional support networks.

When ProviderOne is implemented, our clients will present a plastic Services Card instead of the paper Medical Assistance ID card (MAID), sometimes called a "medical coupon". In addition, DSHS will replace the Personal Identification Code (PIC) with a ProviderOne client ID number.

Medical providers who currently bill DSHS using paper or electronic claims or receive per client per month payments (capitated) will benefit from these workshops. This includes any provider who needs to know about upcoming changes to client ID cards, methods for confirming a client has coverage and determining what services a client is eligible to receive.

Who should attend?

- Staff responsible for setting up process for Medicaid billing including confirming client eligibility
- Staff who plan for system and process changes in the billing office

What will participants be able to do as a result of the workshop?

  • Prepare for upcoming ProviderOne readiness activities including registration, testing and training
  • Recognize the new client Services Card
  • Anticipate the timing of the Services Card mailings to clients and client education
  • Select from no or low cost options for confirming client eligibility without the MAID
  • Preview how client eligibility information will be displayed in ProviderOne
  • Make web-based eligibility inquiries using today's WAMedWeb
  • Prepare for the replacement of the PIC with the ProviderOne client ID number
