Stetson Law Solo Practice Institute - Building a Business Plan

All businesses begin with a strategy designed to ensure that key components are considered and questions addressed, in order for the business to operate successfully. The final product of this analysis is the business plan. This seminar will provide basic information about business planning for solo practice law firms and is designed for the attorney who is considering establishing a solo practice. Material covered during this seminar will include

Developing a mission and vision statement;

Building a marketing plan, including research and sources of demographic information;

Office management strategies;

Client development and retention plans;

Operations;

Purchasing;

Equipment and technology;

Billing; and

Financial management and budgeting.

Participants will walk through the planning process and will sample elements of each step. Particular attention will be paid to the value and technique of writing the plan and quantifying the plan elements.
