Class Description
Based on Julia della Croce’s latest book, Italian Home Cooking: 125 Recipes to Comfort Your Soul, this is a class that will teach some of the sparkling, simple traditional dishes of Italy, each of which showcases intense flavors, seasonal ingredients and/or genuine cheeses.  Julia will demonstrate how to make each of the dishes listed below and as always, Eataly will provide the wine!  Class will be complete with recipes to take home and signed copies of Julia's book will be available for purchase.

Julia della Croce is one of America’s foremost authorities on Italian cooking.  She is the author of over 13 cookbooks plus two books for Williams-Sonoma on pasta making, and has contributed to countless other Italian culinary tomes.  Her most recent book is Italian Home Cooking: 125 Recipes to Comfort Your Soul (Kyle Books, 2010).  Ms. della Croce began her career as a restaurant critic and has been published in The New York Times, Food & Wine, and The Washington Post to name just a few.  She has appeared on many national television shows, including broadcasts on CBS, The Today Show, and the Food Network.  In 1992, she was distinguished as "One of  America’s Best Cooking Teachers” by the James Beard Foundation.  In 1993, she was honored for her contribution to Italian cuisine and culture at the Italian Embassy in Washington, DC.  In 1995, her fourth book was nominated for the coveted James Beard Award. In 1998, she received the prestigious Diplome D'Honneur of France for the French language translation of her sixth book, La bonne cuisine italienne (Solar, Paris).  In 2010, she was presented with the Distinguished Service Award by the Italian government for her ground-breaking work as a journalist writing about Italian food and culture.  As a chef, Ms. della Croce pioneered an award-winning healthy school food program for 200 children at an independent school in Rockland County, and did advocacy work for the West Side Campaign against Hunger, a cutting-edge food bank in New York City.  Julia della Croce is widely sought after for her knowledge about Italian food products and expertise in Italian cooking and teaches at schools throughout the US and Europe.  She lives in Nyack, New York with her family.
