Physicians can obtain board certification in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine (UHM) through the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) and the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM), with a current certification from one of the 24 primary member boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). The Training plus Practice application pathway and the unaccredited fellowship training application pathway will expire July 1, 2010.
This 9-hour course is a review of the major topics that are tested on the subspecialty board exam in undersea and hyperbaric medicine. Upon completion of this course participants should be able to identify their strengths and weaknesses in undersea and hyperbaric and use this information to better focus their exam preparation.
Completion of this course does not constitute certification or credentialing.
NOTE: The 2008 examination for certification in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine will be given over a two week period: September 29 - October 3, 2008 and October 6 - 10, 2008. The due date for applications is July 1, 2008. www.abprevmed.org/publications.cfm
