For the global forest industry, moving away from fossil fuels is an economic necessity due to the high energy costs for the industry in recent years. Biorefineries are seen as a very promising route to meet aims for sustainability and preserving the environment. The biorefinery concept has the potential to provide maximum economic and environmental returns by efficiently utilising all components of the wood.
IntertechPira's second annual conference on Biorefining for the Pulp and Paper Industry 2008 will provide an excellent forum for developing and discussing the concept of biorefining with the leading users, developers, and researchers of biorefining technology across the globe.
This conference will present the industrial perspectives of current and future biorefineries and identify opportunities for the pulp and paper industries.
