The Career Pathways Effect*

The 2013 56th PTE Summer Conference is scheduled for June 17-19 (M-W) at the Riverside Hotel, Boise, ID.

KEYNOTE PRESENTER:

William C. Symonds

Director of the Pathways to Prosperity Project
at the Harvard Graduate School of Education

Beginning in 1957 the Idaho Professional-Technical Education has conducted a professional development activity during the summer for Idaho secondary and postsecondary educators and administrators. Content of the conference changes each year to meet the need of Idaho's professional technical educators and administrators with a focus of complying with the federal Carl Perkins IV Act.

The conference schedule includes a general session followed by program specific workshops. Topics are primarily technical education oriented but a growing number of academic teachers, counselors, and administrators attend.

Conference dates in June are influenced by several factors including venue availability, national student organization conference dates, district release dates, and fiscal year-end closing requirements. The conference location and venue may change each year based on funding, scheduling, and other considerations by the Division.

The Professional-Technical Education Summer Conference relies solely on conference registration fees of the approximately 700 registered attendees to cover all conference expenses.
