NEW FOR THE 2011 CHAMPIONSHIPS!

The Celebrate Indy Arts! Parade

The kickoff event for the DCI World Championship Finals on Saturday, Aug. 13, will be The Celebrate Indy Arts! Parade in Downtown Indianapolis beginning at 11 a.m.

The parade will feature more than 30 drum and bugle corps from all over the country, including two international corps. Featuring many different arts mediums, the parade will also draw many members of the local Indianapolis arts community. It will be a fun-filled celebration of all that is great about the Indianapolis arts community!

The parade will be followed by a patriotic performance of the "Battle Hymn of the Republic" on the American Legion Mall at 1 p.m.  Parade-goers will then be able to proceed to Lucas Oil Stadium for the Come Feel the Music Festival prior to the doors opening for the World Championships.

We need a large number of volunteers to help stage the corps and parade entries. The parade is being professionally staged and the management team will be on-hand to conduct volunteer training prior to step off.  We are also looking for volunteers that are interested in working as an area leader for the parade.

New Competitive Format

This year the Open Class World Championship will be held in its entirety in Michigan City, Indiana on Monday, August 8 and Tuesday, Aug. 9. All the Open Class Corps will depart for Indianapolis following the August 9 event to take part in the World Championship Prelims on Thursday, August 11 at Lucas Oil Stadium. Now featuring more than 40 corps, the new Prelims event on Thursday will run from the morning until late in the evening. The World Championship Prelims will mark the first time in history that the Open Class groups will compete against their World Class counterparts.
