Overview:
Join Dr. Sherri Hill in an overview of the current science related to best-interest decision-making in our courts.  This program is a must for lawyers, judges, social workers and related professionals working with dependency, high conflict parenting plans and at-risk youth & families.  Scientific research and the whole field of medicine is rapidly increasing our ability to understand early brain development and how it is impacted by stress, trauma, drugs, environment and more.  There is much to learn about maximizing recovery and creating pathways to support children through the various legal systems they may encounter.

Thanks to generous funding from the Norlien Foundation, Seattle University will launch a collaborative initiative to educate legal and social work professionals about the science of early brain development and how we may use that information to make truly informed recommendations and decisions that are in the best interest of children in our court system.  Six training modules are under development with this first program serving as an introduction.

All trainings will be made available in-person at Seattle University School of Law and a live video stream webcast option will be provided as well for those who are unable to travel to the school.
