2012 MfSMA Membership

The Missouri Floodplain and Stormwater Managers Association, Inc. is a non-profit organization of professionals involved in floodplain and stormwater management within the State of Missouri. Membership in the association is comprised of local and state government officials, engineers, land surveyors, insurance agents, mortgage lenders, and other private industries or individuals engaged in the management of floodplains or stormwater. We are a growing association with approximately 300 current members throughout Missouri. The association sponsors an annual conference as well as traveling seminars. We also produce a quarterly newsletter.

The association provides an additional link between state / federal government agencies and the local community official or private company or individual. The conference and seminars are also great ways to network with others in the field. In addition, the executive board and legislative committee monitor proposed legislation and communicate with our state legislature when proposed legislation concerning stormwater or floodplain management issues arises.

Membership in MfSMA is a great opportunity to network with other Floodplain Management and Stormwater Professionals. Membership benefits include a quarterly newsletter, a discounted rate for the annual conference, and a voice in issues that affect you.

Membership is open to all persons having regulatory responsibility for floodplain and stormwater management in the State of Missouri; to design and engineering professionals who support our efforts; to insurance professionals engaged in underwriting and marketing flood insurance; to any Federal, State, or local official engaged in emergency management, floodplain management or stormwater management; and to any of our counterparts in any other state in this Federal region.

Annual membership runs from January 1 to December 31. Due to the low cost of annual dues, the cost of membership will not be pro-rated for those who join later during the year.

Corporate membership shall be open to any political entity, corporation or other association engaged in floodplain, stormwater or emergency management, or related field. Persons seeking membership on behalf of such organizations can register five (5) persons who will be their representatives in the Association. Such representatives may be changed from time to time without penalty.
