Please join us for
MONOCOTS V: 5th International Conference on Comparative Biology of  Monocotyledons (incorporating the 6th international symposium on grass systematics and evolution)
July 7 - 13, 2013

at
The New York Botanical Garden & Fordham University. The scientific program will consist of symposia, contributed papers, and poster sessions. Optional activities will include a ticketed banquet, tours of the science campus and grounds of The New York Botanical Garden, and post-conference field trips to botanically interesting sites in the region. 
Air-conditioned dormitories will be available at the
Rose Hill Campus of Fordham University across the street from the Botanical Garden.

PRELIMINARY SCHEDULE
July 7, 2013 (Sunday) -
Arrival and registration at the Lombardi Center, Fordham University's Rose Hill campus. Evening welcome reception at The New York Botanical Garden.
July 8, 2013 (Monday) - 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Plenary address, symposia, contributed papers, and poster session at Fordham University's Rose Hill Campus.
July 9, 2013 (Tuesday) - 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Symposia, contributed papers, and poster session at Fordham University's Rose Hill Campus.
July 10, 2013 (Wednesday) - 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM. Symposia, contributed papers, and poster session at Fordham University's Rose Hill Campus. 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Optional tours of the Science campus and grounds of The New York Botanical Garden.
July 11, 2013 (Thursday) - 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Symposia, contributed papers, and poster session at Fordham University's Rose Hill Campus. Evening ticketed banquet in the Ballroom at Fordham University's Rose Hill Campus.
July 12, 2013 (Friday) - 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Symposia, contributed papers, poster session, and closing address at Fordham's University's Rose Hill Campus. Evening closing reception at Fordham University.
July 13, 2013 (Saturday) - Optional post-conference field trips to botanically interesting sites in the region.


KEY DATES TO REMEMBER
Registration:
December 1, 2012 - Online registration opens.
March 1, 2013 - Early-bird registration ends.
July 6, 2013 - Online registration ends.
Late registration will be available at the conference.

Housing Reservations:
December 1, 2012 - May 31, 2013 - Air-conditioned housing in the Fordham University dormitories will be available for booking through online registration.  No accommodations in the Fordham dormitories can be booked through registrations submitted after May 31, 2013.

A select list
 of area hotels that registrants may contact directly will be posted on this event website. The Metro-North Railroad, Harlem Line (commuter rail), running between Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan and points north of New York City, has stops at both Fordham University's Rose Hill Campus ("Fordham" station) and The New York Botanical Garden ("Botanical Garden" station).

Submissions:
December 1, 2012 - April 15, 2013 - Abstract submission for oral presentations and posters.
