The 2013 Farm Journal Profit College is a one-of-a-kind, cutting edge event that builds on the knowledge of Farm Journal Field Agronomist Ken Ferrie, Farm Journal columnist Moe Russell and Top Producer columnist and AgWeb blogger Chris Barron.  Co-located with a Corn College Planter Clinic, the event is focused on Variable-Rate Technology (VRT), recognizing that precision technology has a powerful impact on agronomic and profitability outcomes.

Using VRT to create management zones within fields allows growers to increase yields by 25-30 bu./acre, providing a tremendous payback—regardless to the size of the farm operation.  The technology also contributes to the enormous gaps in profitability—that range as high as $500/acre—from one field to the next.

The event will have an engaged format unique to the FJM event family—weaving real live farmer case studies throughout the day (with agronomic data, machinery set-up, profitability examples and panel participation). We will also integrate the Turning Point Instant Survey technology through the entire day.

The morning will be devoted to the agronomic side of VRT and the afternoon will be focused on turning that agronomic success into dollars on the business side.
