Firefighter Memorial Stair Climb
Saturday, September 15th
Fifth Third Bank Building / Lexington, KY

ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?

The Lexington FOF will host a Firefighter Memorial Stair Climb on Saturday, September 15th at the Fifth Third Bank Building in downtown Lexington.  Space will be limited to 350 spots as we climb to remember those 343 firefighters that lost their lives on Sept, 11, 2001 and another 7 spots remembering those who served the Lexington Fire Department and gave their all in the line of duty.  Firefighters will be covering 110 flights of stairs while carrying the accountability tag of each of these members. Registration will be $30 per firefighter and $ 45 per civilian.  Civilians will climb 29 flights of stairs.   Each participant will receive a commemorative t-shirt.  Proceeds will support the FOF Monument to the Fallen in Phoenix Park.  For more on the FOF Monument to the Fallen, visit www.lfdfof.org.

WHAT IS A FIREFIGHTER MEMORIAL STAIR CLIMB?

In September fire service members and civilians convene in high-rise buildings across the United States to climb 110 stories as a tribute to their fallen brothers. Some use air pack or carry hoses; many are in full turn-out gear; others are accompanied by rescue dogs.

Each climber carries the photograph and biographical sketch of a firefighter who was lost on September 11, 2001.

The event is not a race, but an opportunity to honor and remember the 343 FDNY members and 7 LFD members who selflessly gave their lives so that others
might live.

Attire: Firefighter participants can wear turn-out gear or station gear; Civilians may wear work-out attire.
