All participants will have the opportunity to learn from one another, gain a deeper understanding of one's own adoption or foster care experience and hear from nationally-known experts on the latest in research, public policy development, clinical practice, support and adoption reform.

  • “My Story, My Mission” - An inspiring keynote presentation by Darryl McDaniels - Darryl is a founding member of the legendary rap group Run-DMC, a 2009 Rock and Rock Hall of Fame Inductee and, after learning at age 35 that he was adopted, a committed advocate for adoptees and youth in foster care.  Check out Darryl's website for more - www.me-dmc.com
  • A live performance by Darryl and singer/songwriter Zara Phillips, also an adoptee, of “I'm Legit”, a song they co-wrote.

The American Adoption Congress (AAC) was founded in 1978 as a volunteer, non-profit organization bringing together on a national level local and regional search, support and advocacy groups.
