LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the conference, participants will:
- Understand the relationship between mental disorders, substance abuse and offending behaviour.
- Understand the role of mental disorders and substance abuse factors in risk assessment and management.
- Be familiar with various evidence based, best practice approaches to rehabilitation and recovery.
- Be familiar with the role of case management and approaches for community reintegration.
OUTLINE:
This 2-day conference is for mental health professionals and will focus on recovery from mental disorders and addiction within a forensic psychiatric population. International speakers will share their experience and expertise on topics that will include assessment, treatment and management, strategies for motivation, evidence-based and best practice approaches for recovery and community reintegration.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
The target audience will be comprised of physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists and allied health professionals from hospital, community and correctional services.
