LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the conference, participants will:

  1. Understand the relationship between mental disorders, substance abuse and offending behaviour.
  2. Understand the role of mental disorders and substance abuse factors in risk assessment and management.
  3. Be familiar with various evidence based, best practice approaches to rehabilitation and recovery.
  4. Be familiar with the role of case management and approaches for community reintegration.

OUTLINE:

This 2-day conference is for mental health professionals and will focus on recovery from mental disorders and addiction within a forensic psychiatric population. International speakers will share their experience and expertise on topics that will include assessment, treatment and management, strategies for motivation, evidence-based and best practice approaches for recovery and community reintegration.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

The target audience will be comprised of physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists and allied health professionals from hospital, community and correctional services.
