The IRI, which has existed under various
names since 1947, produces quality training materials that are used extensively
in human resource development and staff training throughout the field of
rehabilitation. At the National Forum,
the two Primary Study Groups present the results of their year-long studies in
concurrent sessions. Interested
individuals are invited to register for one of the two topics to be presented
at the conference.
New to the
conference this year, participants will have the option of attending the
conference on-site or virtually on-line.
All participants will receive an electronic copy of the draft study group
document and have an opportunity to read it prior to the meeting. Participants will then listen to a brief
presentation on findings and discuss issues relevant to the topic. Please note that the schedule will vary slightly for the those participating in the Webinar, see below for details.

“Vocational Rehabilitation and Corrections: Achieving Successful Employment Outcomes for Persons with Disabilities and a Criminal
History (PDCH)”
This monograph is intended to raise awareness of PDCH service issues and potential for successful reintegration into the community through collaborative partnerships among Vocational Rehabilitation, Corrections, and other partners that serve PDCH. It provides an overview of PDCH and their challenges to employment. Program development strategies are discussed, with needed training and professional development. An overview of the Vocational Rehabilitation and Corrections systems is provided with partnering models that can be used to develop a coordinated process that includes interagency services, cross-training, data sharing, communication, and problem solving.
