Kingdom Impact - by networking the streams!
Ps. 46:4 “There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God.”
Simple church movements are exploding across the country. Barna’s research now shows 9% of the adult population involved within a “house church” environment. Paralleling this extra-ordinary growth is the continued growth of the mega-churches. Over this conference weekend we will explore together the question of what is God doing! Big and small. The Rabbit and The Elephant! When does substantial growth become a movement? How do movements lead to transformation – of the church and of society. What does it look like to pray and expect that “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth” is more than a pious phrase, but God’s intended purpose for His people.
Main sessions and tracks
Main Sessions:
-
Friday Evening: Tony and Felicity Dale will lead our thinking on “What on earth is the Kingdom.”
- Saturday Morning: The Apex Community Church team will challenge us on “Prophetic Transformation within Mega-churches-the story so far from Apex in Dayton, OH.”
- Saturday Evening: Neil Cole on “The Power and Place of ‘Movements’ in the Purposes of God.”
Conference Workshop Tracks:
A substantial portion of the conference weekend this year is given over to 9 different workshop tracks. These vary from exploring the transitions going on within some mega-churches as they grapple with what the Lord is telling them about house church life, to opportunities to learn from Frank Viola or to get together with Neil Cole and go through the Greenhouse First Story. Full details on the conference tracks are here .
Schedule posted here! Track information here.
Network Leaders Meeting
Running from Thursday evening (9/3/09) through Friday early afternoon, this day is for those who are already carrying the responsibility for leading in one or more home churches.
The cost for the Network Leaders meeting is $60, which includes dinner Thursday evening and brunch on Friday. Register for this meeting along with the conference, and make sure that you book yourself in the hotel for the Thursday night.
Please prepare for The Network Leaders Meeting by reading Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us
by Seth Godin
Note - Space is limited for the Network Leaders group this year! Register for this special time as part of the overall registration.
In the packed 24 hour schedule for this network leaders day we will explore some of the concepts in “Tribes” including a personal message from Seth Godin to the conference, and then in very intereactive ways look at the importance of leadership within developing movements. Frank Viola, Neil Cole, John White and a variety of others will help in the facilitation of this important day. Come prepared to think and participate, and not primarily to just listen!
Children's Program
John and Shirley Tasch will once again be providing an exciting program for children ages 6-15.
This is not "baby sitting" or simple child care. John and Shirley lead a high energy program that gives youth the things they need to be entertained - and much more. More than one parent has told us their child's life was changed dramatically for the better by the Tasch's ministry at prior house church conferences.
You can learn more about the Tasch's at their web site here.
