What do Wind Power and Solar Power have in common? Lots!
Solar energy and wind energy capture renewable energy to generate electricity.
Wondering how to bring solar energy, wind energy and energy awareness lessons into your classroom?
Join us for a two-day conference blending hands-on lessons and interactive activities with a tour of one of California's wind generation sites. Learn more about solar energy and wind energy, and how both are integral to generating the electricity we need to power our homes, schools and businesses. Thanks to a partnership with the University of California Davis and the California Wind Energy Collaborative, this two-day workshop will provide participants with solar and wind energy background, hands-on lessons, and up-close knowledge of wind energy in California.
Thanks to the support of Pacific Gas and Electric Company, all participating teachers will receive a Solar Schools Solar Energy Kit and a Wind Energy Kit, and a wealth of other curricular materials created by PG&E's partner, the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project. Participants will receive over $800 of hands-on kits and student materials. The curriculum and training is correlated to California Department of Education standards and will help energize your classroom!
The NEED Project’s mission is to promote an energy conscious and educated society. NEED is the nation’s leading provider of energy education programs and materials to schools. The NEED program includes teacher tested educational materials, evaluation techniques and tools, recognition of student achievement, and professional development for educators.
