Description:  Learn how to duplicate results achieved in a local High Performance Affordable Demonstration Home. Presented by researchers from the U.S. Department of Energy's Building America program and LaHouse Resource Center faculty, the seminar will address high performance home concepts including:

• Building science fundamentals
• Energy efficiency and comfort
• Home Energy Ratings and Energy Star requirements
• Indoor air quality and ventilation
• Durability

A site visit to the Building America High Performance Affordable Demonstration Home under construction by Habitat for Humanity of West St. Tammany will include a show and tell discussion of:

• Critical construction details,
• Energy Star Thermal Bypass Inspection, and
• Demonstration of whole house (blower door) and duct system air tightness testing.  

CEU’s:  6 CEU's for La. Residential Contractors (including tour); 
                4 CEU's for seminar only

            Certificate of completion may qualify for other professional units
