PRIDE IN UNITY
CTA's Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues Advisory Committee (GLBTIAC) in pride presents the first ever CTA conference addressing issues involving GLBT teachers, students and community.  This conference is open to all CTA members and will serve as a venue to discuss and dialogue about a variety of subjects affecting the entire membership and California's youth.  Participants will have a variety of workshops to choose from, organized into 3 strands addressing the needs of the Membership, the Students and the Community.  The conference will end with a "housemeeting" to solicit the participants' ideas and advice specifically on lessons learned from Prop 8. 

Conference Highlights

Reception – Friday Evening

The opening session will begin after the reception and will feature opening remarks.
Take advantage of
 the opportunity to network with conference attendees and CTA officers.

Workshops of Interest – Saturday and Sunday

The Conference Planning Committee has arranged for three workshop time slots In all, you will be able to choose from some 18 workshops.

Conference Fees

The conference registration fee includes all conference materials, reception on Friday evening, breakfast and luncheon on Saturday, and brunch on Sunday.

Conference Registration Fees:

• CTA Member: $150.00

• Student CTA: $30.00

• Non-Members: $450.00

Hotel Registration

The conference will be held at the Hotel Zoso Palm Springs. You may book your room  by calling reservations at 760-325-9676 and ask for the California Teachers Association Conference rate. 

Hotel Rate

$129 per night (plus applicable taxes) for single/double occupancy

Registration deadline: October 2, 2009.

All expenses for accommodations and parking are the responsibility of the individual, the chapter, the school district, the Service Center Council or the UniServ Unit.
