PAR Solutions Conference 2009
Stewardship in Action
PAR's Annual Solutions Conference is the largest of its kind in Pennsylvania! Representing the majority of community-based services for people with intellectual disabilities and people living with autism in Pennsylvania, PAR brings together providers, policy-makers, self-advocates, advocates and families every year for an action-packed educational and networking event.
This year's Solutions Conference is located in the heart of downtown Harrisburg at the Harrisburg Hilton. Check the Hotel tab for more information on where to eat, stay, park and play in the Capital City.

Speakers and Sessions
PAR prides itself on performance excellence. Our sessions and trainings reflect that high standard. Interact with top decision-makers about policies and practices that are being made right now that impact the services you provide and the people who receive services. Network with your colleagues to share stories and solutions.
The Honorable Estelle Richman, Secretary of the Department of Public Welfare, and noted author and consultant Peter Brinckerhoff will be featured as keynote speakers.
You won't want to miss the breakfast plenary on Thursday morning where we will honor individuals and their accomplishments at the Annual Awards Celebration. We will eat some great food and hear a number of CEOs of PAR member organizations talk about what they are doing to weather the storms and improve the odds of their organizations coming out on the other side of the systems changes and economic downturn with flying colors.
There is something for everyone with over 50 information-filled sessions to choose from in the three conference days. Go to the online At-A-Glance to learn more.

Ways to Save
PAR understands that times are tough - but we also understand that the
information and experiences gained at the Solutions Conference are
essential. In recognition of the current economic situation, conference
registration fees will remain at their 2008 levels. We have not
increased any of our fees to participate in the only conference in
Pennsylvania of its kind.
How is PAR practicing Stewardship in Action and making it easier to attend this year’s conference?
- No increases at all to any conference registration fees from last year.
- Registering for the Conference before the Early Bird Deadline saves you over 20%.
- Attending
the Solutions Conference is an easy, convenient way to get continuing
education credits - PAR has Act 48, NASW, CRCC, and Certificates of
Participation available to all attendees.
- Unlike many
conferences and educational events, PAR’s registration fee includes
several hot meals and delicious breaks. We won’t leave you hungry. We
promise.
- PAR continues to subsidize conference
attendance for self-advocates and family members who care for
individuals with intellectual disabilities or autism.
And here are more ways to save:
- Carpool or room share! Check the Discussion boards at PAR’s social networking site: http://paassocofresources.ning.com/ to find other attendees willing to share their car or room to cut your costs.
- Save
gas money! Leave your car at home or in the hotel lot - The central
location of the Hilton Hotel and Towers gives PAR staff an opportunity
to show you around the capital city and recommend some of our favorite
places to eat and play, almost all of them within walking distance from
the hotel. The Hilton also offers free shuttles to and from the
Harrisburg International Airport, the Amtrak train station (walking
distance) and the Harrisburg bus station (walking distance).
- Many
of our conference exhibitors and sponsors* offer special discounts to
PAR conference attendees. Be sure to visit the PAR Solutions Hall to
see what cost-saving opportunities are there for you.
