IT'S A NEW GAME PLAN:
THE BEST DEFENSE IS A GOOD OFFENSE

THE THEME:

This year's conference is designed to help leaders and chapters develop and implement a winning game plan.  It is made up of six training strands with all the workshops designed to address the new realities we are facing.  All of the skill sessions are components of CTA’s “Quality Public Schools and a Strong CTA Build a Better California” organizing plan.  Our conference is being held on Super Bowl weekend, but we will conclude in plenty of time to get you home for the game!

HOW TO REGISTER
RegOnLine allows you to register your attendance, pick your electives, choose the payment option of your choice and make hotel reservations directly online.  You will receive instant confirmation, a reminder notice a week before the conference and be provided access to all your registration information.

EARLY REGISTRATION INCENTIVES
Registrations received by December 18, 2009 will be entered into a raffle to have lunch at David Sanchez’s table or Dean Vogel's table during the Saturday General Session.  Winners will also have their pictures taken with David or Dean.  Early registrants will also be automatically entered into drawings held on Sunday at the conference where a host of other spectacular prizes will be given away!

UNIVERSITY CREDIT
Participants will have an opportunity to receive One (1) Semester Unit of University Credit for Professional Service Credit.  A representative from CSU Chico, Department of Education and Center for Regional and Continuing Education will be present on Saturday and Sunday morning to process requests for credit.  Participants wishing to purchase University Credit will need to complete a registration form and pay the credit fee of sixty dollars ($60).  Cash, Visa, MasterCard or Checks, payable to CSU, Chico, will be accepted.  For more details, please refer to the information page on University Credit, printed in our program booklet that will be given to you upon registration on Friday, February 5, 2010.

FRIDAY NIGHT DINNER:
CTA will be hosting a dinner buffet at the hotel.  Dinner will be served from 7:00pm-9:00pm immediately preceded by a one-hour reception with a no host bar. Remember to wear your name badge at all times during the conference because that is your "ticket" for all the meals that are covered at the conference.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
:
CTA President David Sanchez will update attendees on CTA’s efforts to secure stable funding for schools.  Kay Brillliant from NEA will bring you up to speed on what is happening in Washington, DC and provide information on the Obama administration’s agenda for public education.

IN CLOSING:
The future of the California Teachers Association depends upon continuous identification and training of local leaders to survive the educational challenges facing California. In order to take full advantage of the weekend, we encourage chapter presidents to send teams of members to the Annual Region III Leadership Conference.  Please do not hesitate to contact the Region III Office (562.478.1360/1369) should you need additional information.  We look forward to seeing you there!
