Wondering how to bring some sunshine into your classroom?
Lift those blinds, open the doors and come learn how to incorporate solar energy education activities into your lessons. This workshop is designed to provide classroom hands-on materials and training to schools receiving ICECF grants for solar installations. Thanks to the support of the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation, all participating schools will receive a Schools Going Solar hands-on kit for their grade level and additional materials developed by the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project. The curriculum and training is correlated to Illinois State Board of Education standards and will help energize your classroom!
The Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation, the Foundation for Environmental Education and NEED have partnered to bring this no cost workshop to you. Substitute reimbursement, breakfast and lunch are provided. You will receive a form at the workshop to submit for reimbursement.
The NEED program includes teacher-tested educational materials, evaluation techniques and tools, recognition of student achievement and professional development for educators. NEED materials and training programs provide comprehensive, objective information to educate students about energy, electricity and energy conservation, with a special focus on solar energy.
Registration for the workshop is due by November 2.
