The curriculum for the first-ever Corn College Winter Semester is designed to help you raise the best corn crop possible for 2010. Farm Journal Field Agronomists Ken Ferrie and Missy Bauer have assembled a one-day session packed with information to help you make the best agronomic moves following the 2009 growing season.

“Our 2009 crop leaves many corn growers with more challenges than normal for the next season,” explains Ken. “We’ve put together an agenda that will help tackle those challenges and get ready for 2010.”

Key topics included in the sessions:

  • Learn how to compensate for what Mother Nature dished out in 2009
  • Spring field fixes
  • Managing high residue fields in the spring
  • Paying the carbon penalty in time to protect yields
  • Compaction and soil density
  • Dial in N needs

The day ends with an open agronomic question and answer session with Ken and Missy.

This is set up so you can also easily attend the National Farm Machinery Show.
