Welcome to Winnipeg, Rotary's Gateway to the World!

2010 notes 100 years of Rotary being an international organization and Winnipeg is where it all began. Distrct 5550 and 5580 are having their first joint conference to celebrate.

Ajoy Chatterjee, Governor of Rotary International District 5580 and Nancy Morris, Governor of Rotary International  District 5550 are pleased to announce that Rotary International President, John Kenny, and the First Lady, June, have accepted our invitation to attend the Joint District Conference in Winnipeg, May 13-16.

D.G. Nancy greets RI President John while partners Dave and June look on.

This is a great honour to the Rotarians in our two districts as we celebrate Winnipeg’s 100 years of Service Above Self and thus the 100th Anniversary of Rotary becoming an International Organization in 1910. The Rotary Club # 25 of Duluth, sponsored the Winnipeg Club and Paul Harris, Founder of Rotary signed the Winnipeg Club’s Charter.

It is an occasion to recognize the friendship which has developed between our districts.

The conference is being held at the Winnipeg Convention Centre, located in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. The Centre combines warm contemporary atmosphere, state-of-the-art technology and versatility for a wide range of events. The staff and services are renowned for their high quality and commitment to excellence.

The Delta Hotel Winnipeg is the conference hotel. You may phone to book a room: call 1-888-311-4990 prior to Monday, April 12, 2010 and identify yourself as "with the Rotary district conference" to receive a special room rate. If you wish check out the Lodging page for other conference hotels with special rates.
