The 2010 Access Conference
provides a comprehensive forum for access and universal design issues in Alaska. This year, professionals will gain expertise in applying the latest standards for accessible housing, websites, education, outdoor recreation, and buildings and facilities. We will explore beyond buildings to ensure public and private organizations can improve access to programs and services. Preconference sessions will focus on the emerging access issues in employment. Most tracks will include a policy and planning forum and award presentations for promising designs.

Why Attend?

As Alaska's communities change it is vital to address access as a forethought, so people can participate fully throughout their lives. Never before has Alaska gathered so many local and national experts to address access issues. This conference is key to help public and private agencies implement significant changes in codes, standards, laws, and technologies around accessibility. Understanding how to apply accessibility to make up for differences in people and communities is the key to Alaska's future.
