There is tremendous need for Spanish speaking lawyers.If you are conversant in the Spanish language but need to work through and practice legal terms, phrases and concepts, this is the course for you. If you would like to represent Spanish speaking clients but are not quite confident in your Spanish language fluency, we especially want you to join us. Take your Spanish speaking ability to the next level!

This course will meet weekly Thursday evenings from 6:00pm – 7:30pm at Seattle University School of Law, September 30, 2010 – May 12, 2011 except for scheduled breaks during the school year. Included in this course:

• Textbook
• In-class practice sessions & role plays
• Presentations on cultural issues you will likely encounter with clients
• Access to an e-learning community created exclusively for the class
• Light supper each week (ie sandwiches & beverages)

Registrants will have the option to observe live court proceedings in Spanish and the school will explore whether or not there is interest in creating a 2-week language emersion course in a Spanish speaking county.

This class is designed for 12 – 15 registrants max. All registrants will be asked to attend a short pre-class meeting to make sure all participants are conversational in Spanish and/or complete a very short on-line language assessment. Full fluency is not required but ability to engage in Spanish conversation is a must. (This is not Spanish 101).

Tuition for this course is $2900 for 46.50 total available CLE Credits (1.5 credits for each session). Refunds for cancellations will not be permitted after September 23, 2010.

    Group Registration:  Applicable fees for all registrants in a group will be charged to the first person registered in the group as one transaction.   If different members of the group are paying individually (for example with different credit cards), individual registrations are required.

    Cancellations:  The last day to cancel for this program is 5:00pm Thursday September 23, 2010.  Because space is limited for this program and likely to be sold out, refunds will not be permitted after September 23, 2010.  However, a substitute attendee is most welcome.
