Map and Directions

Lighting has been identified as a near-term opportunity for significant reduction in energy use for many building types—from parking garages to homes. Within the commercial arena, there has been a massive push to adopt and implement emerging light source technologies, such as LEDs, for both interior and exterior use. However, highly efficient lighting systems extend beyond consideration of the source. The Adaptive Lighting Symposium challenges facility and energy managers to look deeper for opportunities to couple efficacious sources with occupancy-responsive controls to maximize the energy benefits and create a more desirable lighting environment for those who live and work within those spaces. This presentation and guided audience discussion will cover advanced design and control technologies in use in California and applicable in the Northwest.

Who should come?
Facility managers, utility energy efficiency staff, lighting designers, and the owners and users of buildings in the region, especially those in educational and other institutional settings.

Presented by:
Dr. Michael Siminovitch
Director of the California Lighting Technology Center
Professor, Design Program, University of California Davis
