EVENT OVERVIEW
The Closure and Container Manufacturers Association’s (CCMA) 2012 Sustainability Fall Conference will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort, Lincolnshire, IL. The CCMA conference is being held in conjunction with PlasticsNews’ 2012 Plastics Caps & Closures September 18-19 Conference. Both forums offer attendees back to back days of in-depth industry information-sharing along with networking opportunities among dozens of exhibits all in the same location.

AGENDA
CCMA’S 2012 annual Sustainability Conference focuses exclusively on bringing together value chain leaders engaged in the various stages of the caps/closures/containers recycling processes. Highlights will include presentations on the latest caps/closures/containers best practices supported, promoted and undertaken by leading consumer package goods companies, influential sustainable not-for-profit organizations, packaging companies, recyclers and local/regional municipal waste haulers.
Fresh news, latest advances and new breakthroughs impacting this important North American recycling initiative will be the cornerstone of this year’s CCMA’s conference. Take-aways include an in-depth look at how top packaged brand owners, product developers, designers and manufacturers are preparing and bracing for more challenges from consumers and government to harness caps/closures/containers recycling. Making the case for improving recycling, learning about new after-markets, advances in the creation and development of collaborative industry partnerships that promote cap/closure retention on recycled containers will feature prominently in the conference agenda.
Adding a new topic to this year’s conference will be PP container recycling, and the need for clearer understanding of where PP PCR applications may be utilized in the market place. Learn how large consumer brands and retailers are tackling the challenges associated with sustainability – and what they expect from the packaging community. Gain insights into consumer motives, attitudes and behavior towards packaging and its impact on the waste stream and recycling.
