Dr. Paul Early - Keynote Speaker
Managing the Recovery Life Cycle
Dr. Earley has over 20 years of experience treating addictive diseases and specializes in long term therapy and advocacy for professionals who suffer from addictive diseases. Dr. Earley received his Medical Degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. His training included an internship in internal medicine and residency training in neurology at the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center in Portland. Dr. Earley is certified in Addiction Medicine by the American Society of Addiction Medicine, is a Fellow of ASAM, and is a Diplomat of the Nat’l Board of Examiners.
Dr. Earley has made numerous appearances on nationally broadcast programs such as the Oprah Winfrey Show and was featured in Bill Moyers five-part special on addiction for PBS. He is also the author of the Cocaine Recovery Book. Dr. Earley is the Medical Director at Talbott Recovery Campus - a treatment center located in Atlanta, GA that specializes in chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders.
Dr. Earley’s presentation for this event will be Managing the Recovery Life Cycle. This presentation will identify ways that addiction treatment must change to shift addiction care to a chronic disease model. Dr. Earley will be teaching substance abuse professionals the basics of an outpatient addiction evaluation. Participants will be introduced to several tools that are available to assess a patient's current addiction status and to identify what level of care, if any, that should be prescribed.
This presentation is under application with GACA, LPCA and NASW for the participants to earn 2 continuing educational contact hours.
