El Camino Hospital's Genomic Medicine Institute (GMI),presents a monthly series of 10 two-hour evening workshops, in collaboration with Genetic Alliance, the National Coalition for Health Care Professional Education in Genetics (NCHPEG), and the American Medical Association (AMA). Each workshop will carry two hours of CME credit and will be co-facilitated by a subject expert and an El Camino Hospital physician. The curriculum will consist of four "foundational courses" and six modules covering a range of condition-speicific topics.

This interactive, case-based curriculum will cover the science while placing emphasis on the practical: identifying patients at risk, knowing how and when to order tests, costs of tests and insurance coverage, how to use genetic counselors and make other appropriate referrals.

A $60 charge per session includes dinner and course materials, including subsequent access to regularly updated on-line resources. Registrants who commit to the entire 10-course curriculum will pay $400.
