Leveled Literacy Intervention For the Intermediate Grades 3–5
Intensive Small-Group Intervention For Struggling Readers

Using the LLI Red System (grade 3), Gold System (grade 4), and Purple System (grade 5), this professional development training will provide you with an introduction to an effective literacy intervention for struggling readers in the intermediate grades.

Based on the essential elements of effective interventions for older students as described in the effectiveness research, Leveled Literacy Intervention provides a systematic instructional design that helps intermediate students make accelerated progress to meet grade level expectations.

In this six-day training, you will learn rationales and procedures for high-impact lessons that engage students' attention and thinking and help them read increasingly challenging text levels successfully. Three types of lessons — standard, novel, and test preparation — are used at each level to help students improve comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, and word solving strategies.

Teachers wishing to be a part of the Leveled Literacy Intervention Training For the Intermediate Grades (Grades 3–5) must be able to work with at least one group of four students, five days a week, for 20–24 weeks, as well as attend all six days of training.
