It is with great reluctance that I inform you that, after much deliberation, the Foundation
has decided to close the CHITA program.
CHITA has served the community for many years, and quite successfully with many of its projects. The
community’s needs have changed however, and there are many more opportunities to fulfill technology
requirements now than there were in the early days of this program.
For the past two years or so, CHITA has struggled to maintain an identity or projects robust enough to
elicit ongoing attendance sufficient to justify continuing. When fewer than 25 people committed to attend
the annual meeting in May, despite a potentially terrific program, the writing on the wall became even
Many people have been involved in this program since its inception, and to those people the Foundation
owes a debt of gratitude.
We are also very grateful to Linda Lekness for her many years of wonderful leadership.
Thank you all once again for your work and support over the years. There are a lot of good things
