Being ​a ​caregiver--either ​occupationally ​or ​with ​loved ​ones--can ​be ​challenging ​and ​emotionally ​taxing. ​Common ​personal ​stressors--health, ​family, ​or ​financial--coupled ​with ​the ​day-to-day ​emotional ​demands ​of ​caregiving ​can ​cause ​even ​the ​most ​stress-hardy ​among ​us ​to ​develop ​stress-related ​symptoms. ​Stress-related ​issues ​include ​headaches, ​diabetes, ​obesity, ​heart ​disease, ​asthma, ​depression, ​anxiety ​and ​gastrointestinal ​problems. ​

Emerging ​research ​indicates ​that ​mindfulness ​and ​self-compassion ​promote ​physical ​and ​psychological ​health, ​enhance ​resilience ​and ​relationships, ​and ​improve ​quality ​of ​life.

The ​retreats ​will ​help ​you ​understand ​and ​utilize ​these ​practices ​to ​support ​general ​well-being ​and ​self-care, ​decrease ​self-criticism ​and ​better ​cope ​with ​distressing ​thoughts ​and ​feelings ​related ​to ​personal ​and ​occupational ​stressors.
