CCNA course content includes online, interactive course content, Packet Tracer Network Simulator Application, Packet Tracer Lab Assignments, and access to the global Cisco Academy Connection contains resources for registered course participants and alumni.  These are intensive courses and require a significant investment in time and self-discipline. Participants may spend a minimum of 10 to 20 hours per week on CCNA course activities depending on the individual’s level of knowledge and expertise.

CCNA2: Routers and Routing Basics

Duration:  (9 weeks)


This course describes the architecture, components, and operation of routers, and explains the principles of routing and routing protocols. Students analyze, configure, verify, and troubleshoot the primary routing protocols RIPv1, RIPv2, EIGRP, and OSPF. Course participants will also learn to recognize and correct common routing issues and problems.

Course Participants will learn how to:

  • Configure and verify router interfaces
  • Demonstrate comprehensive RIPv1 configuration skills
  • Design and implement a classless IP addressing scheme for a network
  • Use advanced configuration commands with routers implementing EIGRP
  • Apply the basic RIPv2 configuration commands and evaluate RIPv2 classless routing updates
  • Identify the characteristics of distance vector routing protocols
