About the Training
The Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC) Invasive Plant Management Certification Program trains green industry professionals working in the coastal zone to provide sustainable invasive plant management services to clients, and to facilitate restoration of degraded coastal habitats. Training modules include: a) CRMC Rules and Regulations, b) the Value of Vegetative Buffers, c) Natural Plant Communities of RI, d) the Ecology of Invasive Species, e) Landscape Site Assessment, f) Invasive Plant Management Plan Development, g) Control Measure Selection and Invasive Plant Removal, h) Restorative Planting; and i) Monitoring and Maintenance.

Professionals having completed the two-day training and take-home examination are recognized as Coastal Invasive Managers by the RI Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC). Beginning in 2013 (and space permitting), those interested in attending the training but not earning certification will be able to register at $150 (professional) and $100 (volunteer/nonprofit) rates.

Presented by the University of Rhode Island (URI) Outreach Center in partnership with the Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC).
