Session Description:

Most people would probably agree that the younger planner is more in touch with the new technologies and social media applications available in the meeting industry.  But is that true?  This workshop is designed to dispel stereotypes and foster communication between the emerging professional planner and the veteran planner on how to effectively apply and use technology and social media to drive results.

In this workshop you will:

  • Learn the real numbers behind who uses which social networking platform
  • Put yourself in the shoes of another demographic and navigate social media from that perspective
  • Walkaway with "selling points" as to why your meeting/organization needs (or doesn't need) social media

Jessica Levin, MBA, CMP, CAE is the President and Chief Connector for Seven Degrees Communications.  Jessica uses social technology to build and strengthen both personal and business relationships and teaches others how to embrace social media as a way to create both corporate and personal brands.

Jessica is a frequent presenter on the topic of strategic social media, event engagement and integrating marketing and technology. She has authored numerous articles on marketing, events and social media, is a technology columnist for the MeetingsNet family of magazines and is a contributing author to the book “The Tweeting Meeting.” She is a recognized expert on integrating new media into events and building social communities for business.
