Submit the Application
Gather the documents and information you prepared (see above) and your invitation code. Allow yourself 20-40 minutes to complete the application. You need to complete the application in one sitting. Be aware that you may get bumped out of the application if traffic is high or may be automatically logged off if you stop typing for several minutes.

Click the Register Now button to start the application (see sidebar). RegOnline will email you confirmation of submission after you click 'Finish'.

Late Applications
You must finish your application in RegOnline and submit payment to the Clarion Foundation by March 1, 2017 (11:59pm Pacific Time) to be considered for the 2017 workshop. We do not accept late applications, except as noted below.

We strongly advise you to finish your application early. Do not wait until the evening of March 1, when website traffic will be high and you are likely to encounter technical problems.

If you encounter a technical problem that prevents you from uploading your submission stories and finishing your application, email your stories to clarion@ucsd.edu by 11:59PM Pacific to still be considered for the 2017 workshop. The Clarion coordinator will contact you on the next business day to make arrangements for you to finish.

Good luck and best wishes.

Payment Instructions

  • The first step in the application process is to pay the nonrefundable application fee to the Clarion Foundation. When you complete the payment, you will automatically be taken to a "Thank You" screen that includes the invitation code you must enter to access the RegOnline application form. Also, the Foundation will email you payment confirmation in 1-2 business days.

The fee amount is determined by the date you submit your application and payment:

    Dec 1 - Feb 15: US$ 50
    Feb 16 - Mar 1: US$ 65

To pay the fee go to
http://www.theclarionfoundation.org/appfee.htm and select one of the following payment methods:
    1. Plug'nPay, using your Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
    2. PayPal, using a major credit card, bank transfer, or PayPal balance.
    3. Check or money order (must be mailed by Feb. 22 to arrive before the deadline).
Plug'nPay is the preferred method. It returns an invitation code the fastest and the saves the Foundation money on processing costs, leaving more money for scholarships.

Payment by check or money order is the slowest method; your invitation code will be emailed to you within approximately 7 days. Remember to send your email address along with your check.

If you need technical assistance with payment, please contact the Clarion Foundation treasurer at treasurer@theclarionfoundation.org and copy the Clarion coordinator at clarion@ucsd.edu.
