Today’s diverse students need powerful learning opportunities that allow them to shape their growth and lives, ensuring students have voice and agency in their education. We also need to make deeper learning available to every child, including children of color, English learners, children with disabilities, and children of poverty. Carefully designing what and how we teach will have a significant impact on every student’s access to powerful learning.

Designing for difference begins with knowing each student well and honoring the varied experiences each student brings to the classroom. Join the Institute for Learning as we bring together the voices of IFL’s scholar practitioners, researchers, policy-makers and educators from the field to engage in highly interactive design thinking activities to address questions about how to create powerful learning experiences for students.

During our three days together, explore how to:

  • Create classrooms where students develop agency
  • Use talk to help socialize intelligence
  • Design and mediate instruction for all learners
  • Use PLCs to design differentiated and rigorous instruction across disciplines
  • Encourage independent thinking, curiosity, and student collaboration

    Cancellation & Refunds

    Requests for refunds must be made in writing by May 3, 2016, and must be accompanied by a registration receipt. The amount of the refund will be reduced by a processing fee of $25. No refunds will be issued after May 3, 2017.
