Map and Directions

The HealthMeasures team at Northwestern University will present an introduction to item response theory (IRT), Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT), the Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS), and how to access PROMIS measures in systems such as REDCap and Epic. This is a one-day training appropriate for researchers and clinicians who are new to IRT, patient-reported outcomes, and how to access PROMIS measures including an introduction to the use of PROMIS measures in REDCap and Epic.

The morning focuses on introducing attendees to IRT, CAT and PROMIS. In the afternoon, we will focus on best practices in integrating PROMIS measures into research efforts and clinical workflow. The success of PROMIS as one of the premiere patient-reported outcomes measurement systems means that researchers and clinicians alike have many options for utilizing PROMIS. At this training, we will discuss REDCap, EPIC, iPad Apps, and other solutions such as OBERD and AOPOC.

Cost is $250, and registration includes continental breakfast and afternoon snacks.
