WFOA 62nd Annual Conference

Three Rivers Convention Center
September 12-15, 2017

Welcome to the 62nd Washington Finance Officers Association’s annual conference!  We welcome you to enjoy the beautiful late-summer weather and everything else that Kennewick and the surrounding Tri-Cities area has to offer while taking advantage of the excellent educational and networking opportunities the annual conference has to offer. As government finance professionals, we often provide the support and expertise behind the scenes that allows our co-workers to be the heroes in the eyes of the public. Some would say we’re the “hidden heroes” of the public sector.  Join us in Kennewick for an outstanding week of education and fun and Let Your Hidden Hero Shine!

Tuesday, September 12th

Expand on your educational opportunities for the conference by attending one of the full or half-day pre-conference class sessions offered between 8 am and 5 pm at the Three Rivers Convention Center.

Or join us for an exclusive workshop on municipal debt! This interactive workshop is geared towards assisting small to medium size issuers. The presenters will provide an overview of topics on how current debt issuance and management trends are affecting public-sector entities. Further, presenters will guide participants through the responsibilities before, during, and after bonds are sold, common transaction stakeholders, rating agency expectations, as well as other functions of debt management. Participants are encouraged to bring real time issues to be discussed. Attendees will gain a better understanding of the risks associated with issuing debt and how to navigate an increasingly complex marketplace.

After a full day of learning, we invite you to stretch your legs with a Wellness Walk at the Southridge Sports & Events complex in Kennewick, home of the 9/11 World Trade Center Memorial that contains a 30 foot, 6,000 pound steel column recovered from the World Trade Center Twin Towers after the 9/11/2001 terrorist attacks.  Kennewick is honored to house this piece of American history and memorial to the victims and many heroes that sacrificed so much on that fateful day.
