“The Road Ahead: What Next For Emerging Market Private Healthcare?”

As the world recovers from the international financial crisis of 2008-9, expansion of the private health sector continues apace across emerging markets. Healthcare is rapidly becoming a major global industry, growing faster than gross domestic product in most countries. Even in emerging markets, with their high rates of economic growth, annual growth of healthcare averages some 2.6% more than GDP. Developed markets have already experienced a secular trend of healthcare growing faster than GDP that has persisted for 60 years, but emerging markets are growing even faster. Where will this lead? What are the opportunities that lie ahead given rapid growth? What will be the challenges? And how might they be overcome in this time of exciting possibilities as we all work to build this industry and provide better healthcare to greater numbers of people?

The 2011 IFC Conference
At this time of change and expansion, IFC’s 4th biennial health conference will gather some 200 senior healthcare executives and thought leaders from around the world to think, discuss, exchange and share ideas about the future of this dynamic and important industry. Key issues that will be under the spotlight include:

• The challenges of investing in across borders in emerging market healthcare
• How could you expand your client base to reach more patients in the future?
• How will technological innovation change healthcare in the future?
• Current reforms and the role of the private health sector in medical education
• How can business performance be improved through improved corporate governance?
• How will the healthcare industry cope with the threat of counterfeit medicines in the future?

Registration fees
IFC covered the costs of previous conferences entirely and hosted the conference in its own facilities. However, given the growth in the demand for this event, it has been necessary to move to a larger venue and to hire a professional conference organizer.

Therefore, this year IFC will subsidize the costs of this event, but will not be able to cover them in full and therefore this year, there is a registration fee of US$750 for registration prior to Midnight (US Eastern time) of May 10, 2011.
