This intensive eight-week online course uses the principles and practices of Dialogue Education™ to teach you how to use these same principles and practices to design effective educational events online.

Along with other dialogue education practitioners, you will work online in diverse learning tasks, using a variety of online tools, with content from Dr. Vella’s 2008 book, On Teaching and Learning. By the end of this online course, you will have answered for yourself the question: How can the principles and practices of Dialogue Education™ be implemented in the online universe?

Workshop facilitators, Marian Darlington-Hope and Karen Ridout, with Jane Vella, will model and teach the Principles and Practices of Dialogue Education™ through a series of Learning Tasks that stress accountability, relevance and employ the content that you are learning. Participants will work through a range of large group, small group and individual exercises that are engaging and creative, all within a workshop design that provides a structure for participation and observable results.
Prerequisite: Must have completed  Learning to Listen, Learning to Teach and be actively applying Dialogue Education practices and principles in your work. 
Class size:  Limited to 15
Course length:  8 weeks (40 learning hours)

During the course: The course is primarily asynchronous for the eight weeks—participants will complete one module per week, on your own time during that week, making sure to complete it by the last day designated for that week’s module.

There will be 2 synchronous meetings—via Skype or telephone, scheduled at a specific times. The first meeting will be held after Module 2 and the second after Module 8. The specific, scheduled meeting times will be determined with participants during the course.

Dr. Jane Vella will be giving her thoughts online after each module, after having read all the posts.

bullet collaborated in completing and reviewing learning tasks online
bullet identified and composed Praxis online in learning tasks (do/reflect/change)
bullet used design tools online: the Eight Steps of Design©, learning tasks in modules, feedback using the Dialogue Education™ approach, and more...
bullet used Evaluation Indicators (learning transfer impact) online to assess their own work
bullet identified ways of raising energy online
bullet practiced engagement online
bullet used the language of Dialogue Education™ online
bullet prepared a synthesis of their learning online
bullet worked in asynchronous and synchronous modes online
