Recorded Webinar - Form-Based Codes for Small Towns
Tuesday, January 01, 2013 8:00 AM -
Tuesday, December 31, 2013 9:45 PM (Central Time)

Stefan Pellegrini shows ways to use form-based codes to address preservation, evolution, and growth in small towns and rural communities. He discusses redevelopment, extension of infrastructure, and related strategies for self-sustaining rural communities, strong downtowns and responsible growth patterns. Stefan provides examples from towns as small as 5,000 people, with applications to even smaller towns and unincorporated communities.

This is the first in a series of webinars on small towns + FBCs.

Stefan Pellegrini AICP, LEED AP, is Principal and Vice President with Opticos Design, Inc. During his career he has contributed to a wide variety of urban design, planning, and architecture projects, including the design of new towns, master planning and revitalization endeavors for existing communities, and the design of residential and civic buildings. He possesses a masterful knowledge of both building types and vernacular architectural styles, and has played a significant role in the development of many contemporary design guidelines and form-based codes. Much of his recent work has focused on charrette-based planning, coding, and revitalization strategies for California's small towns and underserved communities, and since 2003 he has been an active lecturer in Urban Design at the University of California at Berkeley. Stefan holds a Bachelor of Architecture magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Urban Design from the University of California, Berkeley.
