The Center for Collaborative Communication presents: Hearing Others and Ourselves!

Make 2012 the year you become more capable in communicating: increase your ability to hear your partner, kids, boss and coworkers, excel at not “taking it personally”-- and be heard yourself!

Would you like to make 2012 your year to…

  • Build proactive and collaborative relationships?
  • Ask for what you need and hold your own needs with care?
  • See human interaction – both celebrations and conflict – as an opportunity for self-learning, connection, and generating new ways of moving forward?
  • Find new ways to address conflict with confidence, self-management, harmony and ease?
  • In every day conversations, increase understanding, clarity, trust and connection?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions then CCC’s course Hearing Others and Ourselves is for you!

The introductory 15-hour course
starts September 27th, 2012 and takes place Thursday nights 6:30-9:00pm over six weeks.

What People Say About this Level 1 Course:
“Already by my first week of taking the class, I started to notice small, heart-warming shifts in my daily conversations. I talk to a lot of people throughout my day, and yet suddenly each exchange became a chance to plug in on a richer, colorful, more meaningful level. I learned that when people say 'no', to think about what they might be saying yes to... what need this 'no' may serve for them. Meeting with the trainers and my fellow classmates was a treat that I looked forward to each week.” - LeeAnn Renninger, PhD, Director of Life Labs NYC

“My training in Nonviolent Communication with Dian Killian has been amazing. In the six weeks I’ve been enrolled in Foundations I, I’ve been amazed to see this practice already bear fruit.  Each time I practice NVC, the outcome is so much more satisfying than anything I’d been able to do before.  It’s been remarkable even for a total beginner. This is the kind of skill anyone involved in the Department of Peace Campaign would benefit by having fluency in, so we can practice it and also model it. I HIGHLY recommend it.” -  Carol Hillson, State Coordinator, Department of Peace Campaign; Cofounder & Chair, New Yorkers for a Department of Peace
